network safety and netiquette

Netiquette and network safety are critical components of responsible and secure online conduct. In an ever-expanding digital ecosystem where people engage in a wide range of online activities, it is critical to prioritize the safety and well-being of both individuals and the larger online community.

From my own experience, excellent network security necessitates being both watchful and aggressive. It entails safeguarding personal information, employing secure passwords, and staying up to date on the latest cybersecurity dangers. Regular software updates and the use of security measures such as firewalls and antivirus software also help to protect against potential threats.

Network Safety to Remember:

  • Use Strong Passwords- Avoid using information that is easily guessed, such as birthdays or common terms.

  • Update Regularly- To avoid vulnerabilities, keep your operating system, antivirus software, and other apps up to date.

  • Beware of Phishing- Unsolicited emails, texts, or links should be avoided. Clicking on questionable links or submitting personal information should be avoided.

  • Firewall Protection- Enable a firewall to monitor and manage network traffic both incoming and outgoing.

  • Limit Personal Information- Share personal information on social media and other online platforms with caution.
